Builders Network Expands Business To New Location

Builders Network Inc, an established Berkshire County business specializing in sales and construction of customized modular homes, moved from its old location, 402 East Street to 549 Dalton Ave Pittsfield, MA.

Builders Network President/Owner Michael Giovine cited growth and a steady flow of business over the years as influential in his decision to add the 2,500 square foot model home.

According to Giovine, this will enable customers to appreciate modular homes in a new way never thought possible. He put his main focus into the kitchen and bath room since when people remodel their own home, these would be the areas they would improve. Unlike most modular homes, this Builders Network model shows a hearth wall kitchen, glass cabinetry, rope molding and a champagne backsplash all in which are standard. Giovine wanted to show detail and elegance without it costing the customer.

Giovine stated “I was really impressed with what our factory does with Builders Network kitchens and bathrooms. There are about seven or eight different model kitchens and baths to choose from. They include stone chimneys, brick surrounds , hearth walls, ceramic tile, and even stone. And the best part is that they are already installed when the house arrives.”

Formally a sales representative for Poloron Homes and Kalpan Building Systems, Giovine and his wife, Cindy, moved to the Berkshires from Rochester NY in 1986. They began Builders Network in the Wheeler & Taylor Insurance Building on East street a few years later. From there they expanded their office to a 1,000 foot showroom. This included a set of fully operational windows, siding samples, a variety of different cabinets and countertops, and a complete kitchen display.

In the 15 years in the east street location, Giovine has done over 200 homes in Berkshire county. In 02, his son Michael joined the business part time. After four years of schooling, he is now a full time employee.

With the expansion of the business and another member of the family to contribute, the Giovine’s as a family decided to move to a larger location and one which would give them more exposure. “We wanted a new location where we could put a modular home so our customers could see how construction was built, be able to imagine their dream home, and be able to touch and feel the product.”

Giovine secured a business loan with Lee Bank for over a half a million dollars to complete this model home which was completed in September of 07.

Builders Network is affiliated with 6 different manufacturing companies, which he feels helps accommodate every type of customer. “Not everyone’s budget is the same and by having the privilege of using 6 different companies I can help accommodate my customers needs and wants”.

Builders Network has been in business for over 16 years and still going strong. Located on 549 Dalton Avenue Pittsfield MA, the model home is open Monday through Friday from 10 to 5; evenings and weekends by appointment only.
